Comparison of two music websites! 

At first I wanted to compare Macklemore and Justin Bieber's websites but I noticed that they are to similar, they are barely any differences between these two. On the left side I posted two screen grabs of how the two homepages for eah artist looks like. 

I have decided to compare Macklemore's and Birdy's website.
This is the homepage of Birdy's main page.

At first, Birdy's homepage have the name of the artist, however Macklemore doesn't have any text on his main picture. Additionally there is a picture of Birdy on the main page in comparison to Macklemore who has embeded music video. Straight away we can see that Macklemore is breaking the conventions of websites - he is not enhancing that the website is his, which suggests that he is more organic artist. 

On both sites there is a navigation bar that helps to move around website. 

Also there are logos of each of the artist recognisable for the audience.

Additionally both of the artists have embeded links to their social media sites. 

From Birdy's website it seems like she creates really calm music more like indie, alternative music, however Macklemore's visual presentation is implying that his music is 'dark' also from the pictures we can asume that he is working with a lot of people creating like a family that works for success. In my opinion both of the artists are more organic.  

Creating website! 

Last week our media teacher Katie introduced us to the website called Wix, which allows people to create different types of websites. We were asked to do one for music artist. 

I have decided to go with Miley Cyrus since she is quite a spontaneous and artistic artist and I thought that she is going to be perfect artist to do website for to experiment with different colours, fonts and backgrounds in order to explore Wix. 

I started to do my backgrounds - most of them I did in Photoshop.
First I downloaded pictures from the internet and then I was creating collages. The background showed on the left I created by saving two pictures - one of candies and the second one with Miley. I made few copies of each and I started to fill the whole 'bakground' with them. Lastly I changed the opacity so the text on the website is going to be visible.



Secondly I typed the whole text, by clicing the tool module on the left and creating new text box. After creating the text another box appeared so I could change the colour, the size of the font and format.













In order to insert a video, I went to a tool bar and pressed 'Add' button and the chosen 'video'. Subsequently I pasted a link from YouTube, therefore it is possible to see the video straight from the website.

I also wanted to include Miley's social media sites. Therefore I selected 'social' button in 'Add' section and picked Instagram, Twitter and Spotify to include on my website. Then i searched links to all of these sites so I can connect them with my website.

At last I decided to add a shop page, since I saw on Miley's official site that she has one. I saved few pictures of products and added them onto my website creating details with price and the name.

I really enjoyed creating this website and exploring Wix. It took quite some time to get familiar with different tools but also to create the idea how it all shpuld look like. It is my first website and I am happy with the outcome, I think it will help me with other tasks this year and in the future! Here is link to my finished website!

My music 

Music plays really important role in my life - i think there is no day where i am not listening to music. It helps me to relax, it makes me think positive, to escape to different world, it makes me want to dance but sometimes it helps me to express my feelings and let out emotions. 

I listen to different kind of music - it depends on my mood, and what do I want to get out of it. Currently I am listening to Indie, Rap, Pop and sometimes classical music! 

I do not have a favourite artists, they are changing all the time as well as trends change because this is how I explore new music - by talking to my friends, searching on YouTube, most of the times I find new music by accident! I am also getting to know different artists from music awards. 

I do not imagine living without music. So many memories - good and bad are alawys connected to different songs. I like that there is such a variety of music - everyone can express them selves by the music that they create or listen to. It is some sort of communication and connection between people, which is one of the most important things in our lives! 

What am I going to concentrate on throughout A2? 

During this school year we are going to work on music industry - I am going to create a music video, digipack and website. This part of my blog is going to be my journey through out the whole process - reaserch, planning, creating and evaluating...

Looking back on my previous blog posts I know it is really important to make posts all the time throughout the process - to include every detail and as much information as possible so our journey is clear and fluent.
It is also important to reflect on your own thoughts, reject bad ideas and develop the good ones.

For me my media blog is a creative piece of work therefore it is important to keep it interesting by using different techniques like essays, presentations, audio recordings and prezis. From my experience I know that it is more pleasurable to read such a blog!

Also, I think evaluation questions that we answered in our first blog are extreamly useful - to look back at your own work and see what went well and what did not work so much. But it also helps us to see the improvement in our knowledge and skills when it comes to media industry.

I think in this year  I need to concentrate on putting as much content about my project but also make it visually better and more interesting.
