MUSIC VIDEO - IDEA 3

For the last idea I have chosen the song callen "Flushed Junk Mind' by Milky Chance.
It is a german folk duo, they started they carier not so long ago in 2012 with one of the most popular song 'Stolen Dance'.

For this song I came up with two sets.

One set would be in an abandoned building or neglected premises where the singers would sing the first verse. Them singing would cut with the voiceover and them talking and playing inside (eg. drawing on the walls, riding on skateboards, throwing trash around etc.).
They would wear casual clothing like jeans and
hoodies or loose tshirts. There also should be skatebards and paint that we can use as props. The setting would be really bright, which I want to achieve with using only natural light. The lyrics of the song is telling a sotry about youngsters and their ideas. That when they were young the weren't thinking about serious stuff only playing at junk yard not worring about anything. Which I want to show in this music video as they play and laugh.

The second set would take place on the streets in London during the evening/night.  Where we can see both characters singing  but also it would cut to a voiceover. In this set they would not have any props. They would wear warmer clothing together with jackets.

I would like the video to be fast paced to refelct the happy mood of the song. I was also thinking about the lighting to be bright which would add more energy to the video. But overall I want to keep it simple since it is a song about young people that are playing outside on junkyards and do not need anything to keep them busy - they are self-suffiecient.

MUSIC VIDEO - IDEA 2

For my second idea I have chosen a song by Son Lux called 'Easy'. Son Lux is creating an alternative music on his own but additionally he is a member of the band called Sisyphus.
My idea for this music video consists of two sets.

The first one would be in a dark room with only one light, lighting the person sitting on a chair. There shouldn't be anything else in the room.  I would like this person to have a visible scar after a heart surgery (Pull out your heart, to make the being alone, easy easy...). I would like the person to be shirtless with long jeans if it is a man or in a plain tank top as well in long jeans if it is a girl. Without any additional props or make up. I want to keep i as delicate and simple as possible.
I was thinking of a wide shot of the room to start with and so the shot can slowly get closer and closer  to a sitting character throughout the whole song. I want the person to look straight into the camera and not to express any feelings on their face.
There would be a voiceover of the song.

The next set would be with the same person in a different room. The actor would stand next to a bin that is on fire and would put letters, documents and pictures into the bin. Standing in one spot, carelessly throwing things into the bin without any emotion.
There would be a voiceover of the song.

I think both of the sets fit to the track and the general atmosphere of the song. It is slow paced song which is quite melancholy. Therefore I wouldn't use a lot of action or any unnessesery props. I want to refelct the mood of the song with the video.

I would like the whole video to be in black and white. I was also thinking about the cutting of the footage. I wanted to take out bits of the footage from one take so there is like jumping action. I was inspired by this video. The technique starts at the 15th second.

MUSIC VIDEO - IDEA 1

The majority of the time spent on this task took me to find a right song, which wasn't as easy as I thought at the beginning of the research.
For my first idea I have chosen the song called 'In This World' by Moby. This song is a voice sample from a song sang by Jackie Verdell, who was a member of 'The Davis Sisters'.
However Moby is an organic artists creating electronic music but also is interested in photography.
The singer is asking the Lord not to leave her alone, not to abondone her, she is lost in the world that she is surrounded by and left all by herself.

My idea for the music video for this song
is to have two sets.
In the first one the singer is in a
place like a jazz club but there is no audience.
She is there all alone singing to herself.

The setting, costume, make up and the props would be followed by the 50’s theme, since the singer was popular in 1950s. She would wear a simple dress together with delicate necklace and earings. She would have a simple eye make up and maroon lipstick. The lighting would be really low.
She would sing all verses but refreins (lordy dont leave me all by myslef.)

For all the refreins I would like to have shots in a car, when the singer is driving alone in the forest. At that moment there would be a voiceover of the song - lordy dont leave me all by myslef.
I would like the whole video to be faded with additional yellow/green filter over it and grain so there is a feeling of an old clip.
When it comes to stylistic elements I would like them to be motivated by the style of an old movie - to have faded filter with blue or green on top of it with additional grain. To make it even moe realistic. I've been inspired by Lana del Rey's music videos.
